Seal puppies invade Holande

Volunteers of the Creche Pieterburen Seal, in the Dutch city of Groningen, are supplying some of the dozens of seals arrived to the Dutch coast as a result of severe storms that hit during the year.
Many puppies are orphans, arrived in the center with the umbilical cord still attached. The disaster has prompted volunteers to set up temporary tents where to give first aid to animals before their return to sea.
Storms and high tides create problems for seals because the sand banks where they bask remain underwater, said Lenie ‘t Hart, who founded the nursery formally known as the Seal Rehabilitation and Research Center.
